About Marco
Marco Schneebalg is a 3rd year Politics, Philosophy and Economics student at the University of Manchester.Born and raised in Brussels, he became a leader the Hashomer Hatzair branch and spent a gap year with the socialist-zionist youth movement in Israel. Seeing the heated debate on the Middle East on the Manchester campus, he founded with a group of students the Manchester Israel Palestine Forum that provides a neutral space for debate and learning on those issues. He occasionally writes on issues related to Israel/Palestine and the role of the Jewish community and has contributed to Haaretz and Le Monde. He is a member of Meretz UK since 2009 and represented the organisation at the Zionist Congress in 2010 and at the 2011 and 2012 Jstreet conferences in Washington, D.C.
